I am pretty much known as a gadget chick...and truth be told, I really do love all my little fun gizmos! But, every once and awhile, it is a good thing to go sorta "tech-free." Over this past weekend, I participated in the Fermentation Fest in Sauk County. On Saturday, I drove the farm art d'tour. Now, I must admit, I took a few pictures here and there with my iPhone, but I really did not do anything with them yet - there was not a lot of service out in rural Sauk County, so I am looking forward to sharing them.
Then on Sunday, I volunteered with the Fermentation Fest by assisting two local artists with a pottery class at their studio/gallery in Rock Springs. And yes, I took pictures again, but the busyness of the day coupled with the lack of service meant that my phone stayed in my pocket most of the day.
For me, this was a truly different weekend. It was kinda nice to get away from "the screen" for a couple days. I think that I should try to go "tech-free" more often!
PS - A couple pictures from the fermentation fest are posted below! You can learn more about the Fermentation Fest by visiting their website HERE. #fermfest

DTour stop - getting to play piano in an old quarry in Rock Springs, WI - kind of an acoustical wonder! The piano is housed at a local cafe (Aunt Ozie's in Loganville, WI) check them out HERE. | This year for #fermfest Farm Art DTour, I was selected as one of the featured poets for along the route. My poem (in the "burmashave" form) is: Bang the drum Sound the horn Now is the time To dance among The rows of corn | I prepped all the tables and the planks of clay for the participants to make their formed steins and cups. It was great to help there and in the gallery. Find out more about the Byer's Studio/Gallery HERE. |
